Elli will be teaching a ladies cha routine course on Thursday, Friday & Saturday and perform it on the Saturday night. She would like to take further to the NZ Pacific Salsa Congress for those that are interested. All ladies are welcome to give it a go, recommended Improver & above. Aimed at Intermediate and above levels.
Learn in this special course over 3 parts in 2 locations:
- Part1 on Thursday 7:30pm at Salsa Latina

• BIO: MARIANO NERIS….
Mariano Neris is one of Boston’s youngest rising salsa professionals, headlining at salsa congresses all over the world, including the United States, the Caribbean and Europe.
Mariano has been recognized worldwide for his unique mambo style.
He enthralls his audience with his complex footwork and flavorful partner work.
Starting at the young age of 11 he has been inspired by the likes of the late Michael Jackson, Fred Astaire, and the mambo king Eddie Torres.
Among his most recent dance accomplishment are winning 1st place on the World Latin Cup Qualifier at the Chicago Latin Street Congress.
He was also one of the Principal Choreographers and dancer for Elvis Crespo & NG2's new music video coming out December 2012 (filmed in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Mariano is a sought after artist, teaching workshops, performing, choreographing and training groups all over the world.
He loves to share his passion for the salsa/mambo industry.
In his 11 years in the salsa business, Mariano Neris has become one of the many reasons why people attend salsa congresses worldwide.
He will keep every social dance floor rocking all night long!

BIO: ELLI TORRES…
Elli Torres has taught and performed locally, nationally and internationally for the past 9 years.
Just to name a few, Madrid, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico. Alongside her partner Carlos Galiano, Elli is the current Australian Salsa Cabaret champion, 4 years running and in 2011 represented Australia at the World Latin Dance Championships in Las Vegas. As co-founders of Brisbane's premier dance academy Latin Steps Dance Company, she has trained and developed some of Queensland and Australia’s key dancers and teams.
Elli is known for her elegant style with loads of flavour and show-stopping choreographies.

• BIO: CARLOS
Carlos Galiano, Carlos is the founding director of Brisbane’s premier Latin dance academy Latin Steps. Originally based in Spain, Carlos has been a key figure in the Australian Salsa scene over the past 11 years. With his dance partner Elli Torres, Carlos is 4 times and current Australian Salsa Cabaret Champions (2008 – 2011), Their team Latin Steps is also the current Australian Team Champions. Carlos’ dancing is epitomised by a strong masculine style with loads of “sabor”.
He is Australia’s pioneers of acrobatic/cabaret Salsa, exhibiting amazing lifts, tricks and aerials in his routines. Carlos has represented Australia as instructor/performer around the globe sharing his wealth of knowledge.

Alfonso Rios is the founding director of Salsa Moves NZ, Otago’s premier Latin Dance studio. Originally from Peru, Alfonso trained at the Conservatory of Music before studying under some of Peru’s best musicians in Afro Latin-American Music. Alfonso, also known as Mr Musicality, is one of New Zealand’s finest Salsa dancers; his smooth, playful style coupled with strong masculinity is his trademark.

CARLOS CINTA In Christchurch !! July 2011

Carlos Cinta was born in San Francisco. He was raised in Chicago and lived there for 26 years. Although Carlos' first experiences of Bachata were not particularly pleasing, it was only after attending a club in Chicago and seeing Bachata danced with sensuality, passion and sexy moves that he truly fell in love with it. Inspired by an extremely talented Bachatera, Carlos began to learn Bachata in order to dance with her. Through his observations while social dancing, he noticed that the level and skill of Bachata on the dance floor were limited to the basic step. Owing much to his boredom and creative collaboration with a friend, Carlos decided to make up all kinds of crazy moves and patterns. With a teaching experience of four years, Carlos started in the humble surroundings of his grandparents' basement helping out a couple friends (who loved the moves he was creating) to teaching his turn patterns with a friend in a little family style Mexican restaurant.Carlos has since moved to San Diego two years ago and can still be found teaching in a dance studios, club classes as well as workshops. He mainly instructs what we know as traditional Bachata (Dominican style) which combines intricate footwork and syncopated steps. Because of his carefree, light-hearted and fun attitude towards dancing, people are ultimately drawn to his Bachata style and his teaching methods. Carlos is grateful for the doors it has opened for him and also for the many chances he has had to meet and get to know new faces and friends from all walks of life.

CATEGORY - Teams Division
Teams must be at least 3 persons. Any number of lifts, dips, drops andflares are permitted. The team division will be judged onsynchronicity.
CATEGORY - Novelty Division
Novelty dance/perform a floorshow/item fit for family viewing oftheir own choice or design of duration of no longer than four (4) minutes - suchtime to include entry/exit from the competition floor, inclusive of property setup. While fun and humor is important, points will be awarded for thepresentation and entertainment value of the item.
