Immersion courses for Latin dancers

Three days of intensive fast track learning with international teachers.

Take your dancing to a new level!!

This year the immersion courses will be held over the festival period, so you can workshop with the internationals by day and go to shows and parties every night.

Courses will run a full day on Friday and two half days on both Saturday and Sunday allowing you time to explore the festival and take part in additional workshops You will have the evenings off to watch the shows and join the parties.

Immersion Course Cost - $255.00 (for bookings before December 24^th )

(Includes full festival pass)

Kids course Cost - $75.00 per child

Salsa Dance (LA Style) – upper intermediate/advanced
Johnny Vasquez ; Watch out, Johnny Vasquez is coming to town! This course promises to be fast, funky, challenging and inspiring. We have yet to find out who his partner is, but if you know anything about Johnny Vasquez, we won't know at the last minute, she will be amazing, and they will both blow you away.

Tango Dance – Fast track to Argentine Tango
Fabio Robles and Ana Andre
Targeted at accomplished dancers of other styles who want to fast track in to learning the beautiful dance of Argentine Tango. You will need to have a good ability to pick up new dance concepts and have good body awareness as this course will move quickly. Fabio and Ana are highly respected world-class teachers and have choreographed for Australia’s "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing With The Stars".  "Wow, after just one hour class I feel like I can dance tango, Fabio and Ana are amazing!"

Zouk Dance – Upper Intermediate/Advanced
Rodrigo Delano and Adriana Coutinho
This course will take your Zouk dance to a new level, Adriana is current world Zouk Champion and Rodrigo is one of the founders of the Zouk style in Brazil.
They have a wealth of knowledge to share.
In order to give New Zealand's dedicated Zouk enthusiasts this rare opportunity to spend three days immersed with world class international teachers, please do not register for this course if you are not experienced in Zouk.

Kids Music and Dance Course - For 5 – 12 year oldsThese lucky kids will have a chance to try many different styles of music and dance over three days, and will have the opportunity to prepare for a performance on the final day. Including costume making, art and watching shows. Kids will be fully supervised so you can get on with your own immersion course!!

Cuban Band - Learn the Cuban instruments and make a SALSA BAND!After 10 years of churning out Salsa musicians in Sydney, Australia, TRESMAMBO are coming to NZ for the first time to stage an intensive music workshop from which you will emerge forming an authentic Cuban Salsa band! In 15hrs of hard core tuition, you will learn to play the authentic Cuban instruments in the traditional way: CONGAS, BONGO, GUIRO, MARACAS, CLAVES, CUBAN TRES, TIMBALES, PIANO, BASS, GUITAR, KIT DRUMS, TRUMPET and VOCALS in the context of a Cuban Band.
